Saginaw Considers Pot Moratorium
The Saginaw, Michigan city council is considering a moratorium on new medical marijuana development for six months or until zoning regulations are established, according to an attorney.
UPDATE: The hearing on 12/21 was packed with protestors, some of whom traveled from across the state to make their voices heard. The city attorney said citizen input would be considered if any zoning laws are revamped.
Established businesses could still conduct business in Saginaw, but the nervous council apparently wants to head off potentially being seen as licensing the establishments.
Medical marijuana activist groups in Michigan have vowed to fight the moratorium.
