LA Cracks Down On Dispensaries

The Los Angeles City Council has just said no.

In a stunning 9 to 3 vote, the Council has approved an ordinance that will eliminate a large number of dispensaries by implementing restrictive new zoning measures. The total number of dispensaries will be limited to 70, a number which may be hard to reach, given the new rules governing where the establishments can be located and their hours of operation.

The Mayor must sign the ordinance and the Council will still vote on the fees that will be used to enforce the new ordinance.

Dispensaries can only operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. under the new rules. Patients are also limited to one dispensary.
